Several days ago I received a comment of Editor on my text about Anatoly Larkin death. The question was did I know him personally. A short answer is not.
However, during last 6 years I saw him every June in the institute. Each year he gave talks and they all were very exciting in fact. He was a member of committee when I had my PhD defense.
Nevertheless, he made a great impact on my scientific life due to his papers. Who did not read them I can recommend three my favorite ones. They are really classical papers such that one can find them in the textbooks now. The list is as follows
1. A.I. Larkin and D.E. Khmelniskii, ZhETF 56, 647 (1969) [Sov. Phys. JETP 29, 1123 (1969)]
2. L.P. Gor'kov, A.I. Larkin, D.E. Khmelnitskii, Pis'ma v ZhETF 30, 248 (1979)
3. L.G. Aslamasov and A.I. Larkin, Phys. Lett. A 26, 238 (1968)
By the way only today I find the news about Larkin death on Gazeta.ru.
